Premium Members Terms of Use

1. About these Terms

1.1 These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your Premium Membership with [AI.Geolabs legal entity name] (“AI.Geolabs”, “we”, “us”). They apply together with our Privacy Policy and any course-specific instructions.

1.2 By purchasing, renewing or using a Premium Membership, you agree to these Terms. If you are buying on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind it.

1.3 These Terms are effective from 8 October 2026. If these Terms conflict with a description on our website, these Terms prevail.

2. Definitions

  • Member or you: the individual who holds an active Premium Membership.
  • Membership Term: the 12-month period covered by your annual payment.
  • Premium Courses: the self-paced courses listed as included in Premium Membership on our Membership Plans page, as updated from time to time.
  • Course Materials: lessons, videos, PDF manuals, guides, datasets, scripts, notebooks, toolkits, white papers and case studies we make available to Members.
  • Live Sessions: monthly group office hours and quarterly one-on-one consultations described in Section 6.
  • Instructor: the AI.Geolabs instructor who delivers a course or Live Session.

3. Membership, price, billing and renewal

3.1 Premium Membership costs US$550 per year, billed annually in advance. [The price includes consumption tax or VAT.] Payment is processed by Stripe and we do not store your full card details.

3.2 Your Membership Term starts when your payment is confirmed. Access to Premium Courses starts at the same time.

3.3 Automatic renewal. [Your membership renews automatically at the end of each Membership Term, and the renewal fee is charged to your saved payment method. We will email you at least 14 days before each renewal with the date and amount.] You can turn off renewal at any time before the renewal date (Section 4).

3.4 Price changes. We may change the membership price for future terms. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice before a new price applies at your next renewal. A price change never affects a term you have already paid for.

3.5 Organisations. Organisations wishing to enrol several staff, or to pay by invoice or bank transfer, should contact us. Multi-seat arrangements are governed by a separate agreement.

4. Cancellation and no-refund policy

4.1 Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from your account page or by emailing cou.kamusoko@aigeolabs.com. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep full access until the end of your current Membership Term.

4.2 No refunds. All membership fees, including renewal fees, are non-refundable. Course Materials are digital and available immediately on purchase, so we do not provide full or partial refunds or credits for any reason, including partially used Membership Terms, courses or Live Sessions you did not use, or a decision to stop using the membership.

4.3 Before you buy. Please read the course descriptions, the Membership Plans page and these Terms before purchasing. If you have questions about whether Premium Membership suits you, contact us at cou.kamusoko@aigeolabs.com before you buy.

4.4 Renewals. Renewal fees are also non-refundable. If you do not want your membership to renew, turn off renewal before the renewal date. We will remind you by email at least 14 days beforehand (Section 3.3).

4.5 Billing errors. If you are charged twice or charged an incorrect amount, we will refund the amount charged in error. This is a correction of a billing error, not a refund of membership fees.

4.6 Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

5. What Premium Membership includes

5.1 During your Membership Term you have unlimited access to all Free Membership courses, all Premium Courses currently available, and the related Course Materials.

5.2 Upcoming courses. Courses marked “upcoming” or “coming soon” are included at no extra cost when they are released during your Membership Term. Release dates are estimates and are not guaranteed. The price of your membership is based on the courses available at the time of purchase, not on future releases.

5.3 Updates. We regularly update Course Materials to reflect new methods, software versions and data. We may revise, reorganise or retire individual lessons. If we retire a whole Premium Course during your Membership Term, we will tell you at least 30 days in advance and, where possible, provide a comparable replacement.

5.4 Not included. Customised courses for organisations, in-person training, consultancy and project services, and certification examination fees charged by third parties are not part of Premium Membership unless we state otherwise in writing.

6. Live office hours and one-on-one consultations

6.1 Monthly office hours. We hold one live online group session per month, normally lasting [60] minutes, where Members can ask questions about course content and code. Dates and joining links are announced to Members at least [14] days in advance. [Sessions are recorded and shared with Members afterwards. By attending, you agree to the recording. You may keep your camera and microphone off. / Sessions are not recorded.]

6.2 Quarterly one-on-one consultation. You are entitled to one private online consultation of 45 to 60 minutes per calendar quarter (January–March, April–June, July–September, October–December). Members who join part-way through a quarter are entitled to that quarter’s session.

6.3 Booking. Consultations are booked through [booking link], subject to Instructor availability. Unused consultations do not carry over to the next quarter or to a renewed Membership Term and have no cash value.

6.4 Rescheduling and missed sessions. You may reschedule once if you give at least 24 hours’ notice. A session missed without notice counts as used. If we need to reschedule, we will offer an alternative time within the same quarter or, if that is not possible, within the following 30 days.

6.5 Scope. Live Sessions cover course content, code troubleshooting and guidance on applying course methods to your own work. They do not include writing code or analyses for you, reviewing client deliverables, or project-specific consulting. Those services are available separately through AI.Geolabs Consultancy.

6.6 Your data. Do not share confidential, personal or restricted data in a Live Session unless you are entitled to do so. Group office hours are visible to other Members.

6.7 Live Sessions are for the Member only and cannot be transferred, shared or attended by a substitute.

7. Instructor-led online courses

7.1 While your membership is active, you may attend instructor-led online courses that AI.Geolabs advertises to the public, without paying the course fee.

7.2 This benefit is subject to available places, and you must register in advance. It does not apply to customised courses delivered for a specific organisation, in-person events, courses run or hosted by third parties, or events we identify as excluded when we advertise them.

7.3 If your membership ends before a multi-day course finishes, you may complete that course.

8. Your account and acceptable use

8.1 You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to purchase a membership. You must give accurate registration details and keep them up to date.

8.2 One person per membership. Your membership is personal. You must not share your login details or let anyone else use your account. We may limit simultaneous logins and investigate unusual account activity.

8.3 You must not:

  • copy, publish, sell, sublicense or redistribute Course Materials, including by posting them in public repositories, file-sharing sites or forums;
  • use Course Materials to create or deliver a competing course or training programme;
  • upload Course Materials in bulk to an AI service to reproduce or repackage them (using AI tools to support your own learning is welcome);
  • scrape, download in bulk, or attempt to bypass access controls on the platform;
  • record or redistribute Live Sessions without our consent; or
  • harass other Members or Instructors, or behave disruptively in Live Sessions.

9. Intellectual property and your licence

9.1 AI.Geolabs or its licensors own all intellectual property in the Course Materials and the platform. Your membership gives you a licence to use them; it does not transfer ownership.

9.2 Licence. During your Membership Term, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Course Materials for your own learning and professional development.

9.3 Scripts and notebooks. [You may use, modify and incorporate code from course scripts and notebooks in your own research and professional projects, including commercial work.] You may not redistribute that code as a standalone product, toolkit or teaching material. An acknowledgement of AI.Geolabs is appreciated but not required.

9.4 After your membership ends. Your online access ends. [You may keep copies of materials you downloaded during your Membership Term for personal reference, subject to the restrictions in Section 8.3.]

9.5 The AI.Geolabs name and logo are our trademarks. You may state that you completed an AI.Geolabs course, but you must not imply that we endorse your work or services.

10. Your data, outputs and third-party resources

10.1 Maps, models, analyses and other outputs you create while taking a course belong to you, subject to the licence terms of any data or software used to create them.

10.2 Data you share with us during Live Sessions or support requests remains yours. We use it only to help you and will not publish or reuse it without your permission.

10.3 Third-party data. Some courses use datasets from third parties, such as Copernicus Sentinel-2 imagery, NASA GEDI data and a custom aerial imagery provider. Each dataset is subject to its provider’s licence, which may restrict redistribution or commercial use. Course Materials state the source and licence of each dataset.

10.4 Third-party platforms and software. Courses may require third-party tools such as Python libraries, QGIS, Google Colab or Google Earth Engine. Your use of them is governed by their own terms, including any eligibility or commercial-use conditions. We are not responsible for their availability, pricing or changes, but we will update affected lessons within a reasonable time.

11. Educational purpose, disclaimers and liability

11.1 Educational purpose. Courses and Live Sessions are educational. They do not guarantee particular results, employment, certification or career outcomes.

11.2 Professional use of outputs. Methods taught in our courses produce estimates with uncertainty. Maps and models, such as building footprints or biomass and carbon estimates, must be validated before being used for operational decisions, regulatory reporting, carbon-credit verification or financial purposes. You are responsible for how you use them.

11.3 Availability. We aim to keep the platform available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance will be announced where practical.

11.4 Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with your membership is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, data or business opportunities.

11.5 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including the Consumer Contract Act of Japan.

12. Suspension, termination and general terms

12.1 Suspension and termination by us. If you materially breach these Terms, for example by sharing your account or redistributing Course Materials, we may suspend or terminate your membership. Where reasonable, we will first notify you and give you an opportunity to remedy the breach. Fees are not refunded on termination for breach.

12.2 Payment failure. If a renewal payment fails, we will notify you and may suspend access until payment is made.

12.3 Discontinuation. If we discontinue Premium Membership, we will give at least 60 days’ notice and refund the unused portion of your current Membership Term on a pro-rata basis.

12.4 Privacy. We handle personal information as described in our Privacy Policy.

12.5 Changes to these Terms. We may update these Terms. We will notify you of material changes by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Changes apply from your next renewal, unless they are required by law or do not reduce your rights. If you do not agree, you may cancel before the renewal.

12.6 Governing law and courts. These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.

12.7 Language. These Terms are written in English. If we provide a translation and it differs from the English version, the English version prevails.
